Worthing Business Circle
22/10/08 in General by Dan Clarke | 13 CommentsI am a member of WBC and this morning I gave a presentation on what bloging is all about and how powerful it can be….!
So lets try it….. Worthing Business Circle run by local business man Steve Caroll who runs the highly successful graphics company based in Goring. The group is all about building business and building relationships in the local community. Around 40 local business owners and operators who all have businesses located in West Sussex meet up once a week at the Burlington Hotel in Worthing to network over a cup of coffee and breakfast, there’s even a healthy choice of yoghurt and fruit….!
The room is littered with all kinds of businesses from estate agents, lawyers, accountants, graphic design, property renovation’s , roofing company and even a funeral director!
We generally stand up and talk about ourselves for about 1 minute (not as hard as you think for some of us) explaining what it is we do and what we are looking for….. not just in business, I have been looking for a new TV for ages!
The meeting generally raps up around 9am just before the traffic wardens are let loose along the seafront in Worthing and then we all carry on with our days work…! all in all a very productive way to start the day….!
if you are interested in this life changing group and want to grow your business and relationships with local people then get in touch with Steve Caroll (Chairman) at Inspiration by Design…. (see that Steve another plug for you!)
Cheers and I bid you a good day
Dan
p.s. All Worthing Business Circle members please reply and leave a comment and we will see if this works!

Thanks for a great talk this morning Dan. I kept quite about my own blog since it is a bit out of date. But you have given me some inspiration to get it back running again. The address is http://www.shiatsublogger.co.uk.
Great blog Dan,
Meeting friends, as always a great start to any Wednesday morning – and it’s a Business Network of professional relationships. Consulting like minded people with your thoughts and needs, receiving friendly advise and business links is just what you dream of whether a micro-business, SME or Entrepreneur.
A quick thanks to Dan for a wonderful and inspirational presentation this morning. I certainly hadn’t realised how powerful blogging could be.
I’ll second that!
Dan gave a fantastic talk on search engine optimisation and blogging (especially as he rightly mentioned this morning that he was Chef)!!
You have certainly put Fresh Egg into my mind and will be interested in talking to them in the future.
Hope some blog readers join WBC

Hi Dan,
Thanks for a great talk this morning. You’ve really opened my eyes on how blogs work and why we should all be ‘blogging’.
Just to echo your comments regarding WBC. As a member now for almost three years, the relationships with the members and to be able to share thoughts and ask advice in this economic climate is invaluable.
Hi Dan,
Thank you for the excellent presentation this morning. It was most informative. I think it would be a great idea to have a WBC Blog, where we can all benefit. Hopefully the above email address will work (got a few probs at the mo) if not try vrettoi@talktalk.net
All the best … Jane
Hi Dan
Sorry I missed your presentation this morning, but I was doing my bit for the community by attending the Durrington High School Enterprise day. Judging by the comments above it was obviously well received and very informative, so do you have a copy of your presentation – I’d hate to miss out on something like this!
Regards
Graham
P.S. Well done at the Arun Business Partnership Awards!
Hi Dan
Sorry I missed your talk this morning – it looks like you’ve started something exciting and members have got the bug already! Congratulations for all your awards last week, I haven’t seen the pictures in this week’s Gazette yet as I’ve been up at St Wilfrid’s School in Crawley today but I can’t wait to see them and I hope it gives you lots of valuable exposure. Thanks so much to everyone who has kindly signed up to join in the fun and games at our ‘Suited and Booted’ College speed networking event on the 18th November, I’ll be sending out confirmation details soon and don’t forget our Le Roc Dance Night on the 20th November if you fancy learning some fancy footwork to some great music! See you for breakfast again soon, Sara Hopkins, Littlehampton C S
Great talk this morning, especially for a chef! I feel far more informed and not quite so old now…!
I left the meeting very enthusiastic about the whole blogging business so in the words of some great business people ‘I’m in’!!!!!
Have a good week. Keri
Great presentation.
How can any business afford not have a blogging site? Given the way Dan explained it this morning it would appear to be essential, especially considering the relatively low setup and running costs in return for a medium that has endless possibilities for the promotion of ones business.
My own website should be fully operational by next week and i will seriously consider adding a blogsite in the near future.
Well done, Dan.
Regards
Richard
