From start to finish the service you provided was exceptional – we have had so many compliments on the canapes and the delicious meal – I’m still dreaming about the beef and dauphinoise!

Your staff were so professional, keeping everyone’s glasses topped up (evident on the dance floor later – very funny!) and keeping spot on with the timings.

Sophie, you looked after us so well, saving us canapes, rescuing us when we forgot the prize for the crossword and the special cheese knife! And then the clear-up that night/morning.

I can’t thank you enough, not a single glitch throughout the whole day, for everything you all did. I just wish it had happened in slow-motion, the day sped past in a very happy blur!

I just wanted to send an email on behalf of Luke and myself to say a MASSIVE thank you for everything that you did to help our special day be so perfect. Apologies that I haven’t sent it sooner but we only got back from our honeymoon on Wednesday and I didn’t want to do it in a rush.

From start to finish you were absolutely fantastic and responded to every tiny query that I had to ensure my mind was at rest. Your professionalism was outstanding and you provided us with a service that I cannot fault in any way shape or form.

Right from the beginning you listened to everything that we wanted and you managed to make our dreams become a reality by providing us with the most incredible menu that we have tasted. So many people have commented on the food (especially the dessert and the cheese on toast) and continue to tell us how amazing it was. In fact, most people we have spoken to have told us that it was the best wedding that they have ever been to and that the food and service, plus the way that the day ran, were absolutely perfect and thats all thanks to yourselves and the chefs. Please do extend our thanks to the chefs as we honestly are so grateful for their excellent work and for creating us the most delicious dishes to fit our theme and day.

Thank you also for setting up the tables for us and making everything look so beautiful in the barn itself. Luke and I were so excited to see it all on the day as we both had a vision of what it would look like but also loved the element of surprise and how you bought it all together for us.

I have already recommended your company onto friends who are getting married and will continue to do so as there was nothing that we would have changed about your service and want others to enjoy that too.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everyone who helped to make the Castle Goring Housewarming Ball the success it turned out to be.

Everyone, but everyone, raved about the food, the service, the flowers, the music, in fact, everything. Even my hyper-critical friends said they found everything unsurpassable, and believe me, coming from some of them, that was high praise indeed. Many people told me they found the food delicious (one friend even said he ordinarily doesn’t like guinea fowl, because it is always so dry and tough, but he loved ours as it was soft and succulent), and yours truly not only polished off the dinner but also TWO huge helpings of the duck scrambled eggs and smoked salmon at breakfast at 2.30am, followed by THREE helpings of kedgeree at brunch at 2 pm. I am chuffed beyond belief at my luck in having Daniel Clarke (Red Anywhere Catering Company), Master Chef of Great Britain, cross my path (and palate!). His partner Sophie Bain is not only a lovely young lady but also wonderfully efficient, with the mostpersonable and obliging staff, all of whom would have put the staff at Downton to shame.

The flowers were beyond compare, and came in for lots of praise from everyone, me included, and I cannot thank Jay Archer Floral Design enough for the most imaginative, magnificent, and tasteful floral decorations. Several of my friends, some of whom it has to be said can be extremely pernickety, drew my attention to Jay Archer’s brilliant deployment of artistic sensibility allied to practicality (vast table arrangements in invisible vases so the flowers floated above head level and did not obstruct our view of each other across the tables, and the most amazing ball of hydrangeas over the dance floor. My only regret is that they are all so efficient that they cleared away everything before I rose today, as it was my intention to ask them NOT to clear the flowers away, but to leave them for me to take into the house to enjoy looking at until they faded!!!

Misha Mullov-Abbado’s band also came in for high praise. One guest, who had no idea that his parents are Viktoria Mullova, one of the greatest violists of all time, and the late lamented conductor Claudio Abbado, said that they’d never before heard a more danceable band, and even I thoroughly enjoyed being twirled around the dance floor by my gusband.

Elegant Stationery certainly lived up to their name, as the name cards, menu cards, even the cards enumerating the tables, were a study in stylishness and elegance, and the marquee housing the whole, which was supplied by Blank Canvas Marquees, certainly showed what artists can do with blank canvasses, as it was not only spacious, comfortable and chic, but also could have been designed to show off the Greco-Roman facade which was such a perfect back-drop that one couldn’t help agreeing with Byron. He believed that Castle Goring was in the most romantic castle in the land, and who am I to disagree? Thank you thank you thank you all of you for making the evening truly magical and brunch the following day a picture of comfortable elegance. It could not have happened without your efforts, which are MUCH appreciated.

Mother of the Bride

I am going to send this through the wonderful Sophie who has been so very very efficient and kind to us over this last weekend for our daughter’s wedding and the luncheon the next day. Not only was Sophie absolutely everything one could wish for, but the food was sensational. Everyone has said how wonderful it was and not at all like outside catering, but more like a restaurant the standard is so high. I had been very diffident about having a hog roast as I had never had a nice one at all. But the one you produced on Saturday was the most delicious pork I have ever eaten. Your staff were terrific and efficient and all of them joined in in just the right way. I particularly like the man with the pony tail (ridiculous!), but he was extremely pleasant and the chef deserves a terrific pat on the back, because his food is totally wonderful. At the lunch, the beef was cooked to absolute perfection and lots of people have said so.

All in all, I couldn’t have been more thrilled with the very high standard of your food and staff….quite sensational. I now need to get my other daughter married off so I can use you again!

As you may know, these last months have not been easy as my husband died just two months ago, but Sophie was understanding and caring and everything turned out exactly as he would have wished. Thank you very much indeed.

Good quality food is really important to us so we spent quite a long time trying to find the perfect people to work with when we were looking for catering for our wedding. From our first contact with Red, we knew they were right for us. They weren’t the cheapest quote we received, but the quality and service shone through in spades – and we knew that this was worth its weight in gold. Sophie in particular, went above and beyond to ensure that all our requirements were met, and on the day was there directing the team to ensure everything went like clockwork – including providing me with a drinks tray to stand on to prevent me sinking into the slightly soft mud and greeting us both with a glass of bubbles on arrival at our venue.

Red were completely flexible with our menu. They really listened to what was important and adapted their menu to accommodate our wishes. We loved the sharing mains – and our guests loved putting on their aprons and chef hats to carve the lamb – which was cooked to perfection. The icing on the cake was being able to combine both our favourite desserts for a create your own sundae (complete with sticky toffee pudding crumbles) to ensure the food sharing experience continued.

Our wedding day was amazing and we can’t thank Red enough for the major role they played in its success. If you are trying to choose between Red and another company, go for Red you won’t be disappointed. Thank you again!

We were so touched with the thoughtful little extras like when us girlies were given a much needed packet of tissues for the speeches! And, apart from your outstanding support Sophie, of particular note was the bar guy. I hope you’re well!! I wanted to drop you a quick email to say thank you to you and the team for everything you did for the wedding. I sent in a review but I just wanted to send an email direct to you to thank you and all the team for your hard work. We’re so happy that we chose Red to cater the wedding, it was definitely the best decision we made. You were so helpful all the way through and the day was such in a success and I think that has a huge amount to do with you and the team. The food was incredible, the staff were lovely and so friendly!! I’d do it all again just to eat that dinner again :) Everyone has commented on how great the food was; so many people have told us it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding and our evening guests loved the fish and chip cones. As you know, we searched through numerous caterers and undertook a number of tastings before we found Red Anywhere. It is no understatement when I say you blew us away in our tasting. The main concern is always that cooking for two is very different to cooking for c.150 and we were hoping that the food would be even half as good as the tasting. In actual fact you blew it out of the water and re-created food that tasted just as good – if not better. Every single guest at the wedding has said unequivocally it was the best food they have ever tasted at a wedding. We really were impressed.

Thanks so much again – it really was the most perfect day. I only wish you had a restaurant so we could come back again!

Wedding of Alice & Ben

We have just got home to Tavistock after a great wedding weekend at the Long Barn and I realised I hadn’t had the opportunity to thank you personally on Saturday night .

Apart from the bride and groom the food was the star of the show. We had some pretty experienced foodies in the crowd and the positive comments about your food and the service were overwhelming.

Many people commented that it was the best wedding food they had ever been presented with.

As you know it was difficult organising a wedding from afar when we had no personal knowledge of suppliers in the area. We found Red Anywhere online. Your website did stand out as it went someway to give a sense of your imagination and approach to food service. However over and above this what won Red the business was Sophie. She was entirely exceptional from first enquiry to last thing on Saturday night. What a star!! A joy to work with.

We work in a competitive sector as do you. We will of course be happy to write a testimonial but if you would like prospective to contact us we will happily talk to them directly.

We, of course, were delighted with your personal involvement in the run up to the day and on the night heading the brigade. Great stuff!

Wedding of Emily & Johnnie Mullins

Dear Sophie

I wanted to drop you an email to say a gigantic thank you for all you did on Saturday. You were absolutely wonderful all day, making sure everything went smoothly and perfectly to time. It was all so slick and all the waitresses so friendly and smiley. The food was absolutely delicious and lots of people said so afterwards. The vegetarians said that it was by far the best wedding food they had eaten and so much more exciting than what they would ever normally be given! They said in particular the asparagus was perfectly cooked. Lots of people said the duck was delicious and I really enjoyed it too.

You really helped me feel so calm in the lead up to the day because I knew you were so organised and would have thought of everything. I knew I could completely leave everything in your hands and that was a really nice feeling to just let it go and know that it was under control. I was so impressed with Red and how nothing was ever too much trouble, everything done with a smile and every little detail already thought out and taken care of. My parents and Johnnie and I were blown away and just think so highly of Red and of you in particular.

My mum and dad said the barn was immaculate the next day and are so grateful that so much was done by you the night before.

I would recommend Red to absolutely everyone!

from the moment we made our initial enquiry last August we have been so impressed with the way you have handled our booking. every email and phone call has been responded to not only quickly and professionally but with great personal care.

Catering for such a large number of people cannot be an easy task, but the level of service provided by you yesterday was exemplary. Every morsel of food was delicious, from the canapes right through to the fudge, and so many of our guests commented on the beautiful flavour, the perfection of the cooking itself and on the extremely high level of service delivered by the waiting staff. we cannot fault any part of our dining experience and just wanted you to know how delighted we are.
